Well, it depends: On what u mean by stomach cramps. Is it gastrointestinal or in the muscles. Lactic acid is a by product from the muscles that builds during exertion and initiates muscle pain and spasm. Though hydration is important, it must be done with a slow increase in conditioning. Over time the muscles clear this more effectively. If conditioned and just started, perhaps a better answer will come.
