Anything is possible: Iud's can cause some crampiness just due to uterine irritation, especially in the 1st few weeks after insertion. A visit to your obgyn can ensure that it is in the correct position. Otherwise, iud's in general and Mirena (levonorgestrel) are nto known for causing severe abdominal pain. If that si the case, then you shoudl see your doctor to be evlauated.
