Hi, in emg tests is it possible for fine movements to be abnormal and larger ones to be normal at the same site? poss to have fine movement prob only?

LIttle confusing: Emg testing is specific to the nerve muscle connection. Emg is also a broad term that may also include ncs or nerve conduction testing as well. The ncs looks at the function of large fiber nerves which can be normal if the main source of a nerve problem is the small fiber nerves. Small fiber nerves can be evaluated with a small biopsy. Discuss with the doc who did the test.
