2 reasons: The eye water because of to basic reasons. If the watering is continuous, non stop then you have a blocked tear duct. If the watering is mostly later in the day then surface drying of the eye is the problem. Most often there is a component of dryness and narrowing of the tear drainage system.

Eye irritation: Try frequent artificial tears, ointment at night, fish oil supplements, and warm compresses. If no improvement, see an eye doctor for punctal plugs or other medical prescription therapy.
