ER can help: A chemical burn in the eye is serious as we do not go partly or fully blind from chemical damage and later scarring. When symptoms are worrisome, a trip to the ER is needed. The ER is equipped to handle such chemical injuries, and can call an ophthalmologist if needed. An Urgent Care clinic may or may not be able to treat such injuries. With an eye injury, it may not be safe to drive oneself.
