Rarely: Salpingo-oophorectomy is a common and safe surgical procedure usually done via minimally invasive (laproscopic) techniques. It is safe and in the absence of bleeding tendencies, coagulopathies or other diseases of the abdomen or pelvis, bleeding is not a common problem.
