What are my pregnancy care options?

Multiple: Traditional-a dr. With hosp delivery physician supervised midwife & hosp. Midwife and birth center certified nurse or lay midwife midewife and home birth not enough room here to cover pros or cons of each. Most deliveries include prenatal care proceeds with minimal complications. I work at a referral hosp where we see all the complications, many tragic most preventable. Choose with care.

Many: In most areas patients can seek care for pregnancy from a number of providers. The choices may include ob/gyn, nurse midwife, lay midwife, and family physicians. You may also consider delivery at home, hospital or birthing center. All these options have risk, benefits and potential consequences. Some of these choices may be limited in certain geographic areas and also by you underlying health.
