Discuss the options: You should discuss the options with your gynecologist who is doing the biopsy.It depends what is the reason for doing the biopsy and what part is being biopsied and you should ask the doc if he or she can do it under local anesthesia, and if you need pain med the doc will give you the prescription for it, it is unlikely that you will need drug for vomiting but ask the doctor.

See below: This procedure can be done under local, possibly with some sedation. The procedure itself is not very painful, but the surgeon will need you to stay still. This is why we usually do this under general anesthesia. If you get sick from medications you need to let your anesthesiologist know so they can treat you aggressively to prevent this.
