A few weeks: Pregnancy hormone usually goes away in a few days to a few weeks (depending on how high they were when you started). If there is still some placenta tissue left in (which can happen even if you think nearly everything came out), then it can still make pregnancy hormone (hcg). If it hasn't gone away in a few weeks or if you still have bleeding or feeling pregnant, get an ultrasound to be sure.
