Safer than...: If you were underweight, but losing weight fast due to distress in any way is unhealthy; it is an example of the increased metabolic toll depression and anxiety can extract. Better would be the slow changes in weight thru healthier living. The body can begin to lower its requirements for stored energy as "insurance policies" against perceived dangers, kinda like how hoarding gives false comfort.

Maybe not: It takes about 3500 calories to lose or gain one pound. Ten pounds of fat would need to equal a deficit of 35, 000 calories.! i cannot think of a 'safe' way to use up that many calories in just three days, or over 10, 000 calories in one day. The average daily caloric expenditure for any given individual is 2000 - 3000 calories per day. There may be a physical explanation for the loss, see a doctor.
