Bulging Veins: Depends on where the veins are located, but often you will need a vascular or surgical doctor evaluate and you may need an ultrasound. Lifting can sometimes cause anal veins (hemorrhoids) or leg veins (varicose veins). The vein pop and bulge when the valves within them break as a results of weakened valves inside the veins and when high pressure puts stress on them (such as lifting or pregnancy).
