Patient specific!: All nsaids give pain releief and there is no one best for all patients with arthritis, or any specific type of arthritis, such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, or psoriatic arthritis. Some patients do better with one, others with a different medication. As a clinician i may try 2-3 different medications to find one that works best. I am not discussuing narcotics, since few need these!

Lots: However there are many options for treatment. Medications like anti-inflammatory options like ibuprofen, naproxen, diclofenac etc. Other options include synvisc/euflexxa injections to help lubricate the joints or even platelet/stem cell therapies as well. Generally these options are not covered by your insurance though. Check out regenexx.com.
