OA of ankle: Topical 'pain' relievers are helpful. Otc (over-the-counter) zostrix (capsaicin) cream and thermacare wraps are helpful in alleviating arthritic pain. Prescribed patches/ointments are also advised for arthritic pain (lidoderm patches/voltaren gel). Good luck.
