A member asked:

Is it possible to postpone the onset of puberty by eating less?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not as desired event: Some girls with clinically serious eating disorders can prevent growth and delay puberty and menses as a package. For example, an 80 lb 9 yo that drops to 60lb may show many health changes, including stopping growth and what may have been proper timing for puberty. It is not going to happen if a kid cuts back a bit and leans out some.
