A member asked:

Optometrists and opticians, would you ever prescribe contacts for a prescription of 0.00?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Why: A prescription of 0.0 conveys no correction. A contact termed a bandage lens is sometimes given to help surface disease of the eye heal quicker and more comfortably. But why wear a contact with no correction unless it is a colored lens with a desire to modify the iris color of the eye for cosmetic reasons.
