Autoimmune disorder: Graves and Hashimoto's are both autoimmune thyroid disorders. Classic Graves is hyperthyroid; classic hashimotos is hypothyroid. But you can have both coexisting in the same thyroid. If you have a goiter and positive TSI antibodies, it is possible your thyroid could become overactive at some point in the future, but it may be subclinical now.
