It doesn't : Cerebral palsy is due to a brain injury sustained before age two. The brain injury is stable, but the manifestations of the injury can change. Once you have been diagnosed with cp, you always have it. I would go see an orthopaedist if the pain is worsening. The doctor will be able to diagnose and treat the musculoskeletal manifestations of cerebral palsy.

Many work around it: The disorder of movement and or posture created by CP is permanent. However, it is quite variable in degree and many learn to work around its problems. Of the any issues involved, stiffness and contractures around joints may be the hardest to work through in the long term.
