Formulary: Each insurance company has its own formulary--that is medications it does and does not cover. In addition, new drugs still available only in brand form (as is the case with vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine)) tend to have a higher co-pay or may require pre-authorization that asserts other similar but less expensive alternatives have not worked. Call your provider and ask if vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) is on the formulary.
