Please explain the relationship between weight loss and gallstones? i have lost 70lbs in the past 6 months, now i have 5.4mm stones and awful pain.

See surgeon: It is not entirely understood why rapid weight loss conrtibutes to gallstone formation, but it is certainly recognized. Weight loss of 2lb/week usually is safest. Now that you have documented gallstones and pain, your gallbaldder should be removed. Visit your local general surgeon promptly for a complete workup.

Loss of appetite: The typical reason people lose weight due to gallstones and pain is that eating causes pain. People stop eating and have less pain.
