Chancroid or herpes?: If you are self-diagnosed, probably you don't have chancroid. Herpes is far and away the most common cause of chancroid-like genital ulcers. Also, chacroid doens't cause fever and chills, but a new infection with herpes often does. See a doctor ASAP for accurate diagnosis and treatment. Good luck!
