No, but...: Both celiac sprue ( gluten enteropathy) and hashimoto thyroid disease are autoimmune disorders-distant cousins, also related to lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, other. All are separate entities. Presence of one increased association (not causation) of others.

NO: Allergies and autoimmune disease can occur in the same individual but one does not cause the other.
