A member asked:

My fingers have been getting increasingly painful over the last 4 months, to the extent that it hurts to hold a cup of coffee or squeeze a sponge out?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Finger pain: Without knowing the other symptoms and your medical history it is difficult to say exactly what is causing this. If you have numbness in your fingers, you may have a nerve compression such as carpal tunnel syndrome. If it is pain/aching in your joints it could be a type of arthritis. You should start by seeing your primary doctor who may want to get xrays, emg, start a splint, or some other tests.
