A member asked:

My girlfriend is pregnant. i was wondering if that would make her more prone to having a brain aneurysm?

Strange question: Being pregnant is a wonderful but stressful state. She needs to be treated with love and support - not fear and regret. You were the cause for her condition, and hopefully you are both excited and happy about the fact. Help her stay healthy and happy. Focus on what is wonderful and positive. Do not dwell on rare and possible problems that are unlikely and unable to avoid.

No: Pregnancy is not a usual cause of brain aneurysms although fluid shifts and high blood pressure (from preeclampsia or eclampsia) can increase the chance of rupture if you did have one.
