Adrenal Fatigue: Autoimmune disease is a manifestation of abnormal immune stimulation. This excess immune respone causes your adrenal glands to increase secretion of stress hormone - cortisol. Early on in disease your cortisol levels may be elevated- however over time your adrenals "tire out" and eventually can't produce enough cortisol. When cortisol is too low, you will show the signs and symptoms of addisons.
