Consider whether lactation will be a priority for you. Consult with board certified ps, ask to speak to prior patients whose cases were similar to yours. Remember that breast reduction may need to be revisited.

Many: Your 1st priority should be selection of well experienced board-certified plastic surgeons to consult with about the breast reduction proc. During this consultation process you will learn about the procedure, the pros/cons of the procedure, as well as a potential risk/complications associated with the procedure. Your medical history, life circumstances, and goals will be taken into consideration.

Much thought: Much thought should be given before undergoing any surgery. The first step is to find a well trained plastic surgeon and have a consultation. Your overall health, breast history for lumps or family history of cancer will be considered. Often, a mammogram will be obtained along with a complete exam of the breast. You should then weight the benefits and have realistic expectations.

Breast reduction: Some of my happiest patients have had breast reductions. You should be evaluated by a board certified plastic surgeon. You need to understand that there are scars required that are permanent on the breast. You also need to know the risks and benefits like any operation.
