A member asked:

What color are the tissue samples from a malignant breast mass?

Breast cancer: Is not about the color. Is about the pathologic finding by the pathologist. A rare but aggresive type of breast cancer is "inflamatory" breast cancer: skin looks very red, and is aggressive. See your doctor for exam.

It is not: possible to reliably tell the difference between benign and malignant tissue by the color of the specimen. Most needle core biopsy specimens are whitish in color, and possibly blood-tinged, no matter what they turn out to be.
