what type of body lift exercises can i do without getting a hernia?

Most: Hernias can occur in areas of the body where muscle defects arise. Most occur during periods of intense increase in intraabdominal pressure--occasionally during exercise. The body is generally good at protecting itself from hernias unless sudden, severe increases uoccur (especially sneezing or hard coughing). I would not restrict exercises, but approach them sensibly and smoothly.
