Depends: It may just be because you are now aware of the area, and you have been feeling it more now, causing adjacent irritation. Once this density is fully worked up, you should have a good idea of the extent of your breast involved with whatever process this is. As of now, the findings you report are vague and incomplete.

Was the density: seen on a screening mammogram? You will probably need extra views and maybe an ultrasound. Most of the time this turns out to be nothing of concern.
