Get evaluated.: I don't think "lots of blood in (the) bowel" is ever normal. And i doubt it is related to your dialysis (i'm sure we'll hear from a nephrologist on healthtap.) call your primary care doctor to get the evaluation started (basic blood work, exam, colonoscopy.) clearly, if you are bleeding very rapidly or have any worry that you are in danger, get into the emergency room pronto! good luck. Not normal!: Blood in your bowel or stool is not related to your PD. See your PCP for referral to a gastroenterologist. Blood in stool has many different causes (hemorrhoids , diverticulosis, polyps, etc). Blood in your peritoneal fluid can be due to menstrual periods or irritation of peritoneum which can be investigated and treated by your PD nurse and nephrologist.

PD w blood in stool: NO. This is not at all normal. Blood in stool indicates a serious bowel problem. Get this evaluated.
