Couple times a day: Generally a couple of times a day, but an average baby poops somewhere between 4 times a day and once every 4 days. It is really how often they poop that is important, or even how much you think they are straining. Its all about poop consistency. If the poop is soft and coming pretty consistently, then once every day or two is pretty perfect.

4-6 hr minimum: Babies usually urinate every 2-4 hours, and may have a bowel movement every feeding. If you are concerned that your child is not getting enough to eat, this is a good guideline to follow. Bottle fed and breast fed infants have different stool patterns and consistencies;.
