Probably not: Burping, also known as belching, is the release of gas from the digestive tract (mainly esophagus and stomach) through the mouth. This can be caused by swallowing air when eating or drinking and then expelling it. When it is associated with other symptoms, such as pain, nausea and heartburn and chronic, you may need to see a physician to rule out ulcer, esophageal disorder or a hiatal hernia.
