Sometimes: The hallmark of WPW ECG is the " delta wave". That should disappear with successful ablation. However, sometimes we are not able to ablate the entire pathway due to proximity to other important structures in the heart, and the delta wave may reappear on ecg, but as long as you are not having a recurrence of svt, that is ok. If you get a recurrence, you may require medication or a repeat procedure.

Hope Not: If we got it, we got it. There should be no traces of the WPW (what we call delta waves) left behind. If the ablation was incomplete, the "pathway" can come back over time.
