A member asked:

Could seeing a chiropractor actually cause joint instability?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly: High velocity, short arc adjustments, typically performed by a chiropractor or osteopath, are commonly performed for the purpose of "realignment" or mobilization. Ligaments provide structural support as they attach from bone to bone. Sufficient forces applied across the joint could potentially counteract the purpose of the ligaments and, thus, promote instability, in theory.
