No: Doxycycline is used to treat several different species of bacteria and several different bacterial illnesses. It c overs most strains of staphylococcus aureus including mrsa, hemophilus influenza, chlamydia and chlamydophilia, mycoplasma and some strains of gram negative bacteria. It is also used to treat acne and prevent malaria.
