Uncertain: Sacral nerve stimulation is approved for urinary retention, but may not work in all patients. The best way to determine that is with a test stimulation procedure or a first stage where the lead is placed near the 3rd sacral nerve and connected to an external stimulator. If it works, then the battery pack is placed at a second procedure within a week.
