Infection?: With asthma there can be much mucus that is coughed up, but typically it is white or clear. If it is discolored, this is usually in the morning and it clears by late morning. Green phlegm could be suggestive of an infection that is also aggravating your asthma. If a person is using the rescue inhaler more than twice a week during the day, this suggests the asthma is not controlled.
