Colon cancer: Sorry about your loss. I assume fob is fecal occult blood test. It sounds like your mother had colon cancer. Colon cancer, especially in the right colon, can be asymptomatic until it spreads to other organs. Please get a colonoscopy at the very least at 50.

Late stage cancer: Without knowing all the details of the situation, i think that the late stage of liver cancer was likely the cause of death. The ifob may have been positive secondary to rectal varices from liver failure, especially in the setting of long standing cirrhosis of the liver.

Liver cancer: Liver cancer unfortunately is typically very aggressive. Patients are often diagnosed in advanced stages. Treatments remain limited for this disease, and most patients with advanced disease pass within 6 months. I am sorry for your loss.
