Yes, get checked now: As you know, a pulmonary embolus can be lethal. So any symptoms suggestive of pe should be checked out: pleuritic pain (pain at the "top" of the breath), shortness of breath, coughing up blood, dizziness, etc. Additionally, a painful lump in a leg may be a dvt: deep vein thrombosis - a clot that can travel upstream to the lungs where it becomes very risky. Genetics can play a factor - get seen now.
