Sciatic pain: Depends. Sometimes sciatic pain is helped by heat and sometimes helped by ice packs. There are several causes of sciatic pain and it is best to see your doctor to find out the cause and to give you proper treatment.

Maybe: Sciatic pain refers to nerve pain along the course of the sciatic nerve, which is a large nerve that runs down the back of the legs. Heating pads are considered symptommatic treatment (i.e. Treat the symptoms but not the underlying condition) and, like many treatment options, will help some people and won't help others - but it won't hurt to try. See a physician if symptoms persist.
