Residual?: If the pain never improved, there is a chance you might still have residual narrowing around a given nerve or nerves. Talk to your surgeon. Scarring and other post-op changes sometimes can sometimes transiently contribute.

That is a good one : There can be many reasons including: maybe you should not have had the laminectomy in the first place, being out of out of shape, never were rehabilitated correctly or this is not your first spine surgery or you smoke, are obese or have underlying medical problems or multiple other sources(nerve damage) for your pain other than the one addressed by the laminectomy. Speak to your surgeon.
