Stretching: Depending on the cause, stretching, physical therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic adjustment, pain medication, and epidural injections can all help relief sciatica.

Meds, positioning: Nsaids, positioning with hips and knees flexed, cold or heat applications, avoid sitting. If not better in a few weeks may add epidural steroid injections or oral glucocorticoids. Tread lightly around narcotics for this (they often worsen the pain over time). Some patients report good relief with drinking alcohol. Any weakness or numbness get a referral to neurosurgery.
