What is lasik?

Laser eye surgery: Laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis = permanent reshaping of the cornea using an excimer laser to reduce dependence on glasses/contacts. Usually a blade or laser creates a flap, the stroma layer of the cornea is vaporized in a specific manner calculated by the computer, and the flap is replaced. If you have a stable prescription, then you can get an evaluation to see if you are a good candidate.

Vision correction: Lasik is laser in situ keratomileusis. The procedure uses a cold laser to reshape the front window of the eye (cornea) in order to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. The procedure places the treatment under a flap of tissue that is created either by another laser or a blade. Lasik is one of the most commonly performed vision correction surgeries worldwide.

Laser vision correct: Laser assisted in situ keratomileusis. Literally using a laser to reshape the cornea from within. It is a two-step process by creating a thin flap of tissue on the cornea and then using a laser to ablate the corneal tissue to a specific degree and shape. This reshaping can then allow light to properly focus inside the eye without the need for glasses or contacts. No stitches needed.

LASIK: Lasik is a very sophisticated surgical eye treatment done on the front surface of the eye (cornea) that is done by laser by the eye surgeon (ophthalmologist) that reshapes the cornea & corrects the nearsighted, farsighted or astigmatism. The goal is to remove that blurriness & create clear vision with zero glasses. Any further discussion would be given to you during or after a lasik evaluation
