Hard to know: All depends upon the situation. This is rare, unless it is planned to facilitate your surgery. If it is planned, then the proper fixation will follow as part of the surgery. If not planned, then the surgeon will make necessary treatment adjustments to best accomplish healing.

You will be fine: If palate fractures then usually is spontaneously heals. Be carefull not to apply pressure i this area. If there is persistent pain and signs of infection then see an oral surgeon.
