Endometrial ablation: The success rate of endometrial ablations is 90% with patient satisfaction 95% depending on age and uterine anatomy. There can be longterm complications which can typically be avoided if the technique of ablation is properly done and the area of the uterus near the cervix is not ablated. Also, you may be at higher risk of pain after an ablation if you have your tubes tied.

You have options: There are many treatments available for heavy periods. Novasure, hydrothermablation, cryoablation and thermachoice are all fda approved. I thinkthat the hydrothermablation (also called genysis or hta) is the safest option. Look for a doctor who has experience with this as well.
