?syringomyelia: Your description may suggest a problem inside the spinal cord such as a congenital syrinx or enlarged tunnel, and the chronicity would be highly reassuring, as it is unlikely that you possess a progressive problem. Might get an MRI of spinal cord to further evaluate.
