Training: Any doctor can bill for an ultrasound. All perinatologists are train in doing & reading scan, therefore they can bill, depending on the type they do.

Ultrasound training: A perinatologist spends three years doing a fellowship in maternal fetal medicine. During that 3 year training, a significant amount of time is spent learning fetal ultrasound.
