Depends: An md consult would not be out of order at your age. It is likely pharyngitis or bronchial spasms secondary to a moderate respiratory infection or even allergies. If irritated enough by coughing, a small amount of blood could look more foreboding mixed in with phlegm or saliva. By the way fever= higher temperature. Feel better!

Hemoptysis.,,: Coughing up blood, called hemoptysis, is a symptom that always requires evaluation. The most common cause of hemoptysis is bronchitis but malignancy, which can also cause this symptom , needs to be ruled out. Your symptoms overall sound like acute bronchitis but see your doctor to rule out underlying malignancy early, when it is curable. If you smoke, quit today! your doctor can help with this!
