Depends: Do you smoke? Do you have a respiratory condition such as asthma? What treatments have been prescribed in the past?

Lung Resistance: Best bet will be to have lung function test(PFT), to be evaluated by lung doctor (pulmonologist). It will identify if you have any problem. Regarding frequent congestion and phlegm, you may have chronic sinus problem. You may need antibiotic course. One stop shop at pulmonologist should be helpful. Hope this helps. Let me know. Thanks.

Immunity: Regular saline gargles help people with slight cough. Honey too consumed regularly in Luke warm water helps. But also get yourself checked by. Physician .
