It Can: Pid can be mild or every severe. When it is severe it often requires hospital IV treatment. It can cause severe pain that lasts even for many years. It can lead to a lot of scarring in the belly all over that causes pain and even infertility. Mild pid is more unpredictable. But it is difficult to predict.
