Metacarpal?: I believe that is the word u r asking about. The metacarpal bones are the bones of the hand between the wrist (or carpal bones) and the phalanges (or finger bones). The thumb is considered the first finger anatomically, so the fifth is the 'pinky' finger. The fifth metacarpal, therefore, is the bones between your wrist and fifth finger, or the inside of your palm (hand facing forward).

5th metatarsal: The fifth metatarsal is on the outside of the foot (see picture). If painful, t is important that you see a physician & have a x-ray to determine if you have a fracture. If there is a fracture then options usually consist of crutches, boot/ cast, or surgery. There is a chance that a 5th metatarsal fracture may be a “jones fracture” and have a high risk for nonunion, or failure to heal properly.
